  • Increase the intake of bland meals, eat everything but in a moderate quantity. Easy on the mozzarella sticks in parties.
  • Avoid fatty meals.
  • Dairy products, fructose, sorbitol should be a no in case of intolerance.
  • Eat five small meals a day rather than taking large meal once or twice in a day, this will give you a feel of a full stomach and you won’t feel heavy.
  • Eat two hours before going to bed; do not eat a lot at night.
  • Walk/run for 15-20 minutes before going to bed so the food makes some space for the stomach to breathe.
  • Avoid alcohol and fizzy drinks with your meals. They produce gases in your stomach which gives you a feeling of fullness.
  • Don’t just sit idle after you eat something, you can rather dance slowly on your favorite song.

So every time I use to have sour stomach my mother use to make these weirdly awesome teas, at least better than eating those yucky giant size capsules. In start you might find the taste bad as it is different from any regular tea, but trust me if you can it does wonders when you are lying upside down on a floor just to get a relief for a min.

  1. Cinnamon tea:

One of the magical ingredients in my kitchen is cinnamon. It has so many benefits that I can write a book on it. Along with many other benefits it is best for upset stomach.

To prepare cinnamon tea you have to take cinnamon 2 cinnamon sticks (normal size) in case you have cinnamon powder take ½ tsp add it in one glass of hot water and drink it once it cools down.

  1. Ginger tea:

This is my personal favorite. You might be wondering what is tastes like to have ginger in a tea right? Try it! Ginger replicates the GI track to produce enzymes that helps your digestive system. It also reduces the gas formation in your stomach – which means no annoying sounds anymore.

In boiling water add ½ piece of ginger and let it cook it the water quantity remains half. You can add honey in it for improving taste and drink twice a day.

No, I am not kidding, rice does have those contents that can reduce or settle a sour stomach. It also fights diarrhea, but in a certain form.

Boil ½ cup rice in 6 cups of water, when the rice is boiled, strain the water in a cup and let it cool down. Once the water is cool add honey or brown sugar and drink.

Like I said we have bulk of natural products to soothe an upset stomach. Fruits are I guess that one thing which doesn’t have any side effects, but again if you take in minimal quantity.

Peppermint is soothing for digestive tracks. It contains anti-inflammatory agents which reduces the stomach aches. You can add peppermint in the food you are eating or for welcoming results make a peppermint by add 5-6 peppermint in boiling water. Drink it once the water cools down.

I shared the home remedies with tea, fruits, and vegetable using natural resources available in our kitchen. Here are other helpful sour stomach remedies that reduce the effect of sour tummy and will suit your taste buds.

  1. Snacks that you can attack:

One thing I always had in my mind while I use to suffer from sour stomach was SNACKS. I guess, everyone craves to eat snack and junk anytime. But, there are some snacks which can improve the symptoms and entertain your taste buds as well. A toast within a decent meal with oat, rice or crackers will be everything. The quantity should be less.

  1. Yogurt:

Consuming dairy products in upset stomach aren’t ideal. But, yogurt has probiotic qualities which reduces the discomfort of upset stomach. It is a good source of digestion as well. Just avoid taking fat yogurt, just eat plain yogurt with no sugar or artificial flavors added in it.

  1. Black salt with soda water:

Do you crave for soda? Going to a bar would probably be a bad idea, so the least you can do is add a touch of bar in your kitchen by pouring a pinch or a little more in soda water with lemon. And your shot is ready!

  1. Hot water bag:

Want to get rid of those cramps? Do you feel something creepy inside that little tummy? The cheapest way of reducing these cramps is to boil water and pour it in a water bag and keep it on your lower abdomen. In case you don’t have a water bag, iron a cotton cloth and put on your stomach and start pressing your stomach downwards.

  1. Green tea:

Green tea is something you should drink daily in the morning or twice a day. You don’t need to have a sour stomach to enjoy the wonders of green tea. It is the quickest way of digestion. Add a 1 table-spoon of honey in it instead of sugar and wait till the stomach aches disappears.
